I'm a double cancer survivor and have been through the medical ringer. Accolade appeared like a breath of fresh air. I read the profiles of the available doctors, and they are bursting with wise physicians. Four of the [physicians] I've seen are the best primary care doctors I've ever seen in my life. All from the comfort of home. Each time I got in to see someone within 30 minutes. I sure hope UC will keep this Accolade service. It's wonderful.”

Virtual medical and mental health care visits
Accolade treats the whole person — from mental health and wellbeing to physical health — to make sure you and your family get the full support that you need. With Accolade Care, you can speak with a board-certified doctor or mental health therapist from your phone, tablet or computer—day or night. Known as virtual care, these real health care professionals can help you get care for urgent medical issues, ongoing and chronic conditions, mental health, preventive care, prescriptions and more. Accolade Care doctors can also be assigned as your primary care physician so that you see the same doctor for each virtual visit—making it easier to manage ongoing conditions and creating a trusting relationship with a doctor and care team who are easy to reach.

Find care outside California
Find care outside California
You or family members traveling or living outside California can access care across the U.S. through the BlueCard Program, which offers access to 92% of U.S. doctors and 97% of U.S. hospitals. You are not required to use a BlueCard provider; however, you’ll pay less when you do, because services received from BlueCard providers are reimbursed at the in-network level of coverage for your medical plan.
There is no charge for in-network preventive care. For other services, you must first meet your medical plan’s deductible. Then the plan pays the same percentage of the cost for covered services as if you received care in California.
If you seek out-of-network care, you may need to submit a claim, and you’ll pay a higher deductible and a greater share of the costs.
To find a BlueCard provider, call Accolade at (866) 406-1182. Some specialists — as well as certain treatments and procedures — may require a referral or prior authorization before your first visit.
See the benefit booklet [PDF] for complete information about covered services.

All of the PPO plans provide access to care through Blue Cross Blue Shield Global Core. See the Global Core program brochure [PDF] for coverage details.
In an emergency, go straight to the nearest hospital and have the provider or a traveling companion contact the Blue Cross Blue Shield Global Core Service Center on your behalf as soon as possible. The Service Center is available 24/7 at +1 (804) 673-1177. Collect calls are accepted.
Providers outside the U.S. may require you to pay upfront for services you receive. If so, request and keep a copy of the bill that includes an itemized list of the services you received along with the charges for each service. See the Global Core program brochure [PDF] for details about filing a claim.
